Sina: " Hey this game looks terrible, i hate the design"
Friend: "you will play it."
Sina: " No way, counterstrike or any FPS is 1000x more entertaining"
Friend: "you'll still play it"
Sina: "Whatever come play CS."
2 hours later
Sina: "My warrior is so much cooler than your cow druid"
Friend: "shut it Sina, go play counterstrike"
4 years later
Sina: "My shamans are way cooler than your APB wanna-be grand theft auto avatar."
Friend: " you'll play it"

By now you should be able to figure out, i purchased APB Saturday night and have slept about 4 hours less than average. Since Cataclysm's release is official, I have spent ALOT less time gaming, in fact very little time spent in comparison to 2000-2008. I remember long nights of gaming with energy drink hangovers that would put university college students to shame. So in a weird way gaming for the past couple days has been oddly refreshing.
So, here is my 1 week play time review.
Pros :
3rd person shooter is pretty new and executed correctly.
LOTS of weapon variations
the art and design in this game is very creative
PVP and PVE(kinda)
Ranking Systems
Instancing servers but keeping it low server count much like Guild Wars
Enough character customizations that have the ability to create ANY avatar. I actually made a char that looks pretty close to me in real life.
Learning curve is mild but i like the challenge (this may be a con for some who like to pick up a game and rock at it, took me about 4-5 hours to score my first frag)
Cons:
-The matchmaking in this game has the potential to ruin it completely. When you design a game in which leveling allows you to use more and more dominant weapons, why did you create a matchmaking system that pairs me (2 hour old character) with XBOYPWNER (19 day character max level with ALL upgrades). Naturally i was demolished....repeatedly.
-Quest seem very thin and not much new content, seems like they are relying on pvp to keep players entertained at the max level.
-Currency: There are 2 auction houses, one uses in game Dollars, the other uses real time points… where you can purchase legally from APB’s developers…..with real US dollars……
Simple economics here… when – supply + demand = value set , and the value set is governed by 2 different currencies one that is very hard to get (APB dollars) and the other that can be purchased at any quantity and at any time given you have real cash…. You have a messed up market.
1-10 rating system I would give APB a 7.
Reference: WoW was a 9.5 for me, counterstrike an 8, and Farcry 2 a 5.
Warning- The original grand theft auto developers created this game, as you can imagine the violence and language is for adults only.
